  • Home Education Science Term 2, 2019 - Survey

    Feb 17, 2019

Hi and thanks for finding your way here!

After a successful 11 week series of science sessions for Home Educated youngsters in Perth, we have decided to continue the course in TERM 2, 2019. Last term, we used the Conference Room at Dome cafe, 21 Cale St, Midland and have similar access for weeks 2-9 next term.

So as to continue planning venues and content, we're seeking interest from H. Ed. parents and venue operators. Please do contact us if you can help <info@scubayorp.com.au>

Costing will need to be $15/head/hour ($13.50 for siblings) with most consumables provided by ScubaYorp. Under certain circumstances, payment schemes can be negotiated.

Our philosophy is based on students embarking on an expedition into science and exposing them to expeditionary behaviour (team work), and attention to the six STILTS phases of the science approach:

S top, focus and consider your place

T alk about the ideas presented

I nvestigate by creating and doing an activity

L ook and observe the experiment

T hink about the meaning of what happened

S hare your thoughts with others

Content is TBA and if you'd like to register interest and preferences for venue and content, please fill out our survey form here .

The course will be inclusive of students' individual learning modes and will be supportive, colourful and tactile. Students are best equipped to attend if they have year 6 equivalence.

We will use our extensive qualifications (MSc, GDipEdSc, GCertSc, BAppSc Cert IV TAE), certifications (first aid, WWCC, NCC, food handling) and experience (teaching, tutoring, nannying) to provide a diverse and fascinating experience.
